Message from the Head of the Academic Publishing Department

Praise be to God, who taught by the pen, and peace be upon the one endowed with eloquent, concise speech.
It is an honor for the Academic Publishing Department, a vital unit of the College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Al Qasimia University, to serve our University and all its members. In every research effort, we recognize the seed of original knowledge. Our mission is to cultivate that seed into a published contribution marked by sound method, precise documentation, and genuine accessibility that reflects the University's intellectual identity and scholarly standing.

Stewardship of the University's institutional publishing for books and scholarly proceedings:
Through Open Journal Systems (OJS) we operate a governed publishing cycle for instructional, reference, and enrichment books, as well as conference and symposium proceedings. The Book Publication Review System follows these official steps:

  • Application and signatures. The Book Publication Request Form is signed by the lead author, the academic Department Chair, the Chair of the College Research Committee, and the College Dean.

  • Submission and tracking. The lead author uploads the signed form to the Book Publication Review System within OJS using the official University email, and can track progress at every stage.

  • Confidential external review. The manuscript is sent for external peer review using the Book Publication Review Evaluation Form. Reviewers may also upload a detailed report. Reviewer identities are kept confidential, so no identifying information should appear in the form or attachments.

  • Feedback and decision support. Once external reviews are complete, the College of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research shares reviewers' comments and recommendations with the authors for appropriate scholarly and editorial action.

  • Technical validation and persistence. Finalized works receive standards-based metadata and a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), together with long-term preservation and archiving measures. Our aim is a polished scholarly text supported by trustworthy data that safeguards the University's intellectual assets and maximizes their benefit.

I invite colleagues across the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Communication, the College of Economics and Management, and the College of the Holy Qur'an to regard the Department as a dedicated partner in the publication journey. Together we shorten the path, raise the standard, and amplify impact, so that Al Qasimia University's name remains inscribed in the record of trusted knowledge and its scholarly output reaches its rightful readers everywhere.
