The College of the Holy Qur’an at Al Qasimia University is like a unique pearl as it is the first college to teach such speciality in the United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1438 AH, 2017 AD, by a noble decision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, President of Al Qasimia University - May God preserve and preserve him. The College is to take full care of the Holy Qur’an, its qira’at, its sciences, its exegesis, and the existing studies about it reaching a sound understanding that lays the foundation to the values of goodness, virtue, tolerance, and cooperation. To achieve that, the college has a comprehensive vision that aims to create a change in Quranic studies programs following an academic outline that enhances the sense of belonging to the Arabic an Islamic cultures while encouraging global openness and supporting cultural diversity.

 

The college started with the Department of Exegesis and Qur’anic Sciences, which grants a bachelor’s degree in Qur’anic sciences through an academic plan that seeks to train students in a distinguished scientific method that qualifies them for scientific research in the field of exegesis, Qur’anic sciences and Qur’anic qiraat and prepares them to serve the local and global community through participation in d’awa and educational activities and providing consultations in their specialized fields.
