Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of Al Qasimia University (AQU), the university's Board of Trustees, chaired by Mr. Jamal Salem Al Turaifi, AQU President, has announced the approval of 480 scholarships for the Academic Year 2024/2025. These scholarships, which His Highness is keen to allocate to students from around the world, aim to provide quality education in line with his vision for establishing the university.
This academic year, AQU welcomes students from an even broader array of nationalities, now totalling 127, representing more than half of the world's countries. This diversity reflects the university's ongoing efforts to attract students from across the globe and provide an exceptional educational environment. The university’s colleges include: College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Economics and Management, College of Communication, and College of the Holy Quran.
On this occasion, Mr. Al Turaifi expressed his deep appreciation for the support of the ruler of Sharjah. He said, "We extend our highest congratulations to His Highness for his unwavering and continuous support to Al Qasimia University. The allocation of 480 scholarships reflects His Highness's great interest in providing educational opportunities for students from various countries, reinforcing the university's role as a global academic beacon that promotes moderation and balance."
Mr. Al Turaifi added that since its establishment, the university has been confidently progressing toward achieving its strategic goals, driven by the vision of its founder to make it a global university rooted in the Holy Quran and the Arabic language. He affirmed that the university continues to succeed according to a well-planned strategic roadmap for the coming years, focusing on expanding quality academic programs and applying the highest standards of excellence to meet contemporary demands.
Al Turaifi pointed out that AQU aspires to be a leading center for higher education and scientific research and a bridge between different cultures by attracting outstanding students from around the world. The university equips them with knowledge and skills throughout their studies through academic programs accredited by the Ministry of Education.
He also highlighted that university continues its global mission of preparing students to face the future with confidence, competence, coexistence, and moderation by offering advanced academic programs that meet the highest standards of modern education. The university prepares its graduates to be ambassadors in their home countries, where they return equipped with the knowledge and skills they have acquired, enabling them to actively spread knowledge and contribute to their communities' development.
