Al Qasimia University (AQU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kazakhstan's Al-Farabi National University to strengthen academic collaboration and research across multiple fields. This partnership will enable both institutions to exchange expertise, conduct joint studies, and undertake collaborative research projects.
The MoU was signed at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University's campus in Almaty, with Prof. Dr. Awad AlKhalaf, AQU chancellor, representing Al Qasimia University and Prof. Dr. Yerkin Duisenov, board member of Al-Farabi National University, representing the Kazakh side. Senior faculty and administrative members from both universities attended the signing ceremony.
Key elements of the agreement include faculty and student exchanges, joint scientific and cultural activities, sharing academic publications, and organizing training programs. The partnership also involves co-supervising academic theses to enhance research quality and foster academic exchange.
Prof. AlKhalaf, emphasized that this partnership aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Founder of Al Qasimia University, to promote global academic and scientific collaboration. He highlighted the university's mission to build academic connections worldwide and advance knowledge sharing.
The AQU chancellor also noted that Al Qasimia University is dedicated to creating an exceptional academic environment and sharing its innovative approach to teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. He expressed confidence that the partnership would boost academic quality and drive further research cooperation.
Prof. Duyssenov welcomed the partnership as a valuable opportunity for academic knowledge exchange, noting Al-Farabi National University’s commitment to collaborating with esteemed global institutions like Al Qasimia University. He highlighted AQU’s expertise in teaching Arabic and its role as a knowledge center promoting balance and moderation.
Duyssenov concluded by expressing optimism that the collaboration would enhance curriculum development and foster shared educational opportunities across a broad range of academic and research areas.
