The Master’s Program in Quranic Exegesis and Hadith at the College of the Holy Qur’an is an academic program that aims to prepare distinguished specialists in Qur’anic exegesis and Hadith by developing their academic capacities and research skills, strengthening their Islamic identity, and providing a multicultural learning environment that employs modern technologies. This contributes to meeting the needs of both local and global communities and to producing original research grounded in a deep understanding of the authentic Islamic heritage while engaging contemporary developments through a balanced and moderate approach. The program also seeks to qualify students for advanced study in Qur’anic and Hadith disciplines and to develop their ability to address scholarly and practical issues through a systematic understanding of the texts and through linking scholarly authenticity with the demands of the modern age.
The total number of credit hours in the program is 33, distributed as follows: 15 credit hours of compulsory courses, 9 credit hours of elective courses, and 9 credit hours for the thesis. Students choose a specialized track in the elective courses from one of two groups, the Qur’anic Exegesis track or the Hadith track, provided that the thesis is completed within the same track. The program aims to graduate qualified scholars who are capable of rigorous research, university teaching, and serving relevant academic, research, and da‘wah institutions.
