University of Sharjah

Al Qasimia University signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah, signed by the University of Sharjah, its Chancellor, Prof. Hamid Majoul Al-Nuaimi, and signed by the of Al Qasimia University, its Chancellor, Prof.  Rashad Salem, in the presence of Murad Haj Hamida, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Majid Mohammed Al-Jarwan, Vice President for Public Relations, and Prof. Essam Al-Din Ajami, Dean of Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation at the University of Sharjah.

Majoul Al Nuaimi stressed that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah required from an early date that the University of Sharjah should work to meet all the requirements of the internal structure of the Al Qasimi University in terms of financial, administrative and technical support, and that the University of Sharjah has worked to implement these directives in an optimal manner.

For his part, Rashad Salem praised the civilizational and moral approach, which he described as great, adopted by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in building scientific, intellectual and Islamic civilizational lighthouses in Sharjah, stressing that His Highness does not hope of everything that builds except the face of God Almighty, who called upon him to succeed in building more of these lighthouses.

The agreement, which was concluded under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Universities of Sharjah and Al Qasimia, provides for cooperation between the two universities in all fields, especially academic, scientific and training. Especially in the development of academic curricula and events concerned with the field of scientific and literary studies in general, and participation in joint research projects and the use of the library and other learning resources in a manner that does not conflict with the laws and regulations applied by each party, and enable faculty members and students from each party to use the capabilities and sports facilities of the other party in a manner that does not conflict with the laws and regulations applied by each party, and joint cooperation between the two parties to facilitate the submission of various requests for international organizations supporting research, as well as participation in the holding and organization of conferences, seminars, workshops and training courses held by each party, and those that can be held between the parties and jointly, and the exchange of visits of officials and members of the teaching and administrative bodies between the two parties to deliver lectures, exchange experiences and conduct joint scientific research in various disciplines, and participate in conferences and seminars according to the time agreed upon by the parties and the appropriate disciplines of each party.

The agreement, which will last for five years, also provides for the creation of training opportunities for students of both parties, provided that the specialized bodies train students in each party to train students in the other party to benefit from them and employ them.

An Executive Committee for Joint Cooperation shall be established to determine the programmes and activities to be implemented within the framework of this Agreement and to draw up timetable and practical plans for their implementation.
